Student mobility connects english-languages colleges in Montréal and the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles

For the third year in a row, eleven students from Vanier, Dawson and John Abbott colleges will be doing their winter terms at the Gaspé Campus in the Anglophone sector. Stemming from an Entente Canada-Québec agreement, this student mobility project is gaining popularity with students attending English cégeps in Montréal.

The eleven students are enrolled in the Social Science and the Natural Science programs. Four students in this group participate in the Adventure Study stream which gives students the opportunity to pair their program courses with a number of outdoor activities.

According to Florence Lizotte, a student for John-Abbott College.  The people she has met so far in Gaspé have their values in the right place, things are simplified and she feels it is healthy living here. As well, she finds people very welcoming. “For the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles, this innovative program is a plus for our academic community; it gives students from a range of different origins a chance to get together and share their experiences,” points out Roland Auger, Director General.

The first year, four students from Vanier College participated in this program. Last year, six students from John Abbott and Vanier came here to experience the Gaspé Peninsula.
