More than 70 young people from outside the region visit the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles
As part of the Scout it Out activity taking place from November 21 to 23, more than 70 young people from various regions in Québec will be visiting the Gaspé and Carleton-sur-Mer campuses of the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles.
Organised for the second year in a row, Scout it Out is one of a number of recruitment activities put in place at the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles. During their stay, the young people will be taking part in different activities to explore student life, the outdoors and the departments. In addition, while learning more about the campuses and the towns, they will have the opportunity to participate in workshops dealing with their chosen programs of study and to meet College teachers and staff.
Participation this year compares very favourably to last year, when only 41 students signed up for the activity. The Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles hopes that several of the participants will choose to study in one of the college programs it offers.
The Scout it Out activity was introduced to replace the open house activity that used to be held every year in February.
