The Marcel Bujold Sports Complex is innovating by organising a daytime sports camp for young people from 5 to 12 years of age and a daytime adventure camp for teens from 13 to 16 during the summer holidays. This initiative is part of the College’s effort to develop nature-based activities at the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles.
Felicia Rooney-Collin, a second year Natural Science student in the English Section has just been awarded the $5 000 Horatio Alger Association of Canada Scholarship.
For the third timesince 2004, the success rate of the students writing the December 2012 English Literature Ministry Exam at the Cegep de la Gaspésie et des Îles was 100%. To put this achievement into perspective, the provincial success rate for this mandatory college exit exam is just over 80%.
The Waves, sound and light presentation offered last fall to English- and French-speaking students enrolled at primary and secondary school from Sainte-Anne-des-Monts to Chandler doubled its initial goal. A total of 3,040 individuals attended one of the 33 presentations, far more than the original goal of 1,500. Already, the Gaspé Peninsula Science Centre (CSG) has taken on a new challenge Hands-on science.
For the third year in a row, eleven students from Vanier, Dawson and John Abbott colleges will be doing their winter terms at the Gaspé Campus in the Anglophone sector. Stemming from an Entente Canada-Québec agreement, this student mobility project is gaining popularity with students attending English cégeps in Montréal.
