Here is the 2019-20120 Calendar for Gaspé English Section.
At the Gaspé Campus, you can enjoy activities involving the participation of a number of colleges in Québec. They give you the opportunity to discover other regions and build ties with students from throughout Québec who share your interests.
Do you enjoy drawing and storytelling? Are you interested in comic strips? Every year, Cégep BD helps talented young comic strip artists to get launched. It will make it possible for you to be coached by an experienced comic strip artist, who will be your mentor all year long, giving advice and commenting on your work. Moreover, Cégep BD organizes the annual 48hBD, a weekend of workshops that will allow you to deepen your personal approach. The event takes place at the Valleyfield college. If you participate in the Cégep BD contest, you could also win one of the prizes awarded for best creations.
Cégeps en spectacle
Cégeps en spectacle is a performing arts competition that promotes the French language. Since its creation, it has launched the careers of many famous artists, including Vincent Vallières, Ariane Moffat and Jonathan Painchaud. Now it's your turn to get on stage. Are you dreaming of a career as an artist or a stage technician? Do you just want to express yourself in music, humour, circus or theatre? Cégeps en spectacle will give you a unique chance to create your own number and present it in public.
College Film Award
Passionate about film? The Quebec College Film Awards gives groups of college students a chance to screen five Quebec films from the last year that were chosen by a committee of experts. The students have to select three films. One representative from each cégep is then invited to participate in province-wide discussions in Montreal in order to choose the winning film. The award is given to its director by a student the following spring, during the televised Jutra Awards gala.
College Students'Literary Awards
Every year, groups of students from different colleges meet to discuss selected works of Quebec fiction published during the preceding year, and that they have read attentively. Guided by their teacher, they discuss the qualities and the merits of the works to decide which Quebec author will receive the award. Any student, great reader or not, can participate.
Intercollege Poetry Anthology
The Intercollege Poetry Anthology is a yearly collection of creations by students from all over the province. To be published in the anthology, you must send in a poem to the Service à la vie étudiante on a topic of your choice. Three poems are then chosen by a local jury for publication in the spring. There is also a contest, where three authors of poems in the anthology share $1300 in bursaries.
Intercollege Snow Sculpture Competition
It's cold, everyone is freezing, but that doesn't stop the shovels. Every winter, around the end of January, the Rivière-du-Loup Cégep organizes a snow sculpture competition that brings together teams from about fifteen Quebec colleges. Participants choose a theme and create a sculpture out of a chunk of snow over 8 feet high! The winning teams share over $2500 in bursaries.
Intercollege Writing Marathon
Every year the Rimouski Cégep gathers together students who are passionate about creative writing, for a 24-hour writing marathon. Participants are invited to express themselves on an original theme during free writing periods alternating with creative workshops led by authors. A literary contest is also organized during the event. The first prize text is published in the Le Devoir newspaper.
Science, on tourne!
Science on tourne! is the only college level scientific and technical competition. Students take on a scientific challenge that seems nutty, but which is really very complex, concrete and highly educational. Science on tourne! is offered as a complementary course to students enrolled in Natural Sciences at the Gaspé campus, and as an extracurricular activity for all students.

The cellule interculturelle is a place for meeting and exchanging with people, mostly students, from a variety of cultures and countries of origin. For those who spend time with the group, it becomes much more than its premises. It is a place of learning and personal growth.
Our main goal is to promote intercultural life on a campus where hundreds of students of different origins interact and learn to understand and appreciate their differences.
We are proud to say that we create educational, cultural and educational projects of great relevance. All those who participate in our events, including teachers and students, get to learn and teach about diversity. The cellule interculturelle is a living environment where multiple lives meet and collide. Here, diversity is far more than numbers: it is real peole, real students, and the cultures that they wish to share.
The cellule interculturelle is a living environment where multiple lives meet and collide.
