Entrance bursary program – Excellence: These bursaries are exclusively for graduates from each of the secondary schools located in the Gaspésie—Îles-de-la-Madeleine administrative region who choose to enrol in a training program at one of the four campuses of the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles. Not only do these $500 bursaries salute the excellence of the winners’ academic record, they also encourage young people to remain in the region.

Entrance bursary program – Immersion: This bursary is for students who undertake their college studies in total or partial immersion at the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles. It encourages students to become proficient in a second language.

Entrance bursary program – Leadership: This is the only component of the fund attribution program that is not awarded by means of a draw. It rewards a student for his or her exceptional involvement in extracurricular or community activities.

“These bursaries serve to shed a light on the importance for gaspesians and and Magdalen islanders  to pursue their studies in their region thus contributing fully to the evolution of tomorrow’s society” added Jean Gagné , associate academic dean of studies at the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles.
